Sean Handyman Repairs, Palo Alto

A contractor everyone in the neighborhood knew — and Google didn't.

Who

Serdar “Sean” Kakayev has done home repairs in Palo Alto for more than twenty years. His company, SHR Remodeling LLC, holds CSLB license #1121642. On Nextdoor he has been voted Neighborhood Favorite six years in a row, 2021–2026, across 150 neighborhoods in Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Los Altos Hills and Portola Valley. On Yelp he has a 5.0 rating. His clients come from referrals, and they keep coming back.

What was broken

Sean had no website. When someone searched “handyman palo alto”, he was not there.

Worse, the internet knew him as three different businesses. On Nextdoor he was “Sean Handyman” with a website address from his old business in Texas. On Yelp he was “Sean Handyman Repairs”. On Angi, an old profile still placed him in Cypress, Texas. Two phone numbers were in circulation. Google had no way to tell that all of this was one licensed contractor in Palo Alto — so six years of neighbor recommendations counted for almost nothing in search.

What we did

  • Built handymanpaloalto.com around the one query that matters for him.
  • Fixed the identity: one business name, one license number, one phone number across the site, Yelp and Nextdoor; the Texas trail is being cleaned up.
  • Linked the site to his Yelp and Nextdoor profiles so Google can read them as one entity.
  • Set up call tracking: every call to the site's tracked number is logged — who called, when, answered or missed.

What happened

  • Aug 7, 2026 — site launched on a brand-new domain.
  • Aug 19 — first impression in Google for “handyman palo alto”, 12 days after launch.
  • Aug 26 — page 1 of Google for “handyman palo alto”.
  • Since then — holding on pages 1–2 for the main query.
  • Oct 6 — site, Yelp and Nextdoor now show one name and one phone number; call tracking is live.

Sean confirms the site already brings him calls from new customers.
